At Veranda Beach, you can take in as much or as little as you want. The beach is over a mile long and the calm waters of Lake Osoyoos are perfect for your choice of water sports.

Veranda Beach offers boat moorage. The Village Center provides the perfect place to meet up with friends around the outdoor pools & hot tub. There is even a fitness center and hiking trails, should you feel so inclined, as well as a general store should you forget anything or just have an urge to shop!

Children love the unbridled freedom that Veranda Beach affords. Freedom to make new friends and just be a kid in a safe environment. The beach is of course the main draw for the kids, as well as the playground, pools, games lawn and beach volleyball courts.

For those looking for a bit more, The Resort offers daily activities for the children and entire family in July and August, as well as special events. Or... just kick back in a hammock with a good book!

One doesn`t have to get in the car to satisfy a shopping craving, as the Veranda Beach General Store is one of the best boutique shops in Oroville.

Whether you are looking to cook something different at your cottage or in need of a special ingredient or fresh vegetables, the Veranda Beach General Store likely has what you are looking for. Be prepared to spend a little time there mind you, as the cottage decor and unique gift ideas are bound to capture your interest. Oh, and send the kids over for a popsicle any time.

The area surrounding Veranda Beach offers endless possibilities for the serious, or even recreational, shopper.

Just down the road, you`ll find duty-free shops and the always popular warehouse-store Prince`s, where you can pick up almost anything you may possibly need for your stay at the beach.

In downtown Oroville you can also find farmers markets and charming boutiques and shops with offerings of antiques, flowers, clothing, collectibles and gifts.

Feel like a road trip? Then take a short drive down the highway to Omak, Osoyoos or Oliver and find just the right item in one of their stores. Additionally, many of the local wineries have boutiques attached offering wine-related gifts, books and clothing.

Roadside fruit stands sell a delicious selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables. Depending on the time of year, you can get your fill of cherries, peaches, apples, melons, cucumbers, squash, tomatoes and a variety of other fresh, locally grown produce.

Hiking at Veranda Beach has proven a most popular activity over the years with three trails to choose from, and each varying in difficulty and aptly named.

1. The Beach Trail is a fabulous, easy, partly shaded walk along the Beach, perfect for families with small children.

2. The Lakeside Trail is our moderate trail, climbing in elevation, to take in spectacular views of the Resort, Veranda`s Vineyard and Lake Osoyoos.

3. The Cactus Mountain Trail is, as it is named, a mountain trail, climbing up beautiful Cactus Mountain overlooking the Resort, Lake Osoyoos and surrounding mountains and once at the top, the view is seemingly endless stretching south to Tonasket and north to Oliver!

Stop by the front desk for Trail directions and further information, don`t forget your water bottle and if taking your furry friend with you, please do keep them leashed and pick up after your pet.

Antelope Ridge Estate Winery

This winery produces premium wines that have gained international recognition. Located on an expansive site on the bluffs of Oliver BC, visitors can enjoy the spectacular views and offerings in the modest tasting room and wine shop.

Black Hills Estate Winery

This popular winery is located between Oliver BC and Osoyoos BC. The vineyard is nestled in the sun-burnt hills on the Black Sage Bench, home to British Columbia`s highest quality vinifera grapes. The rugged desert earth, long sunlight hours and cool nights yield the intensely flavorful grapes that are blended to produce the Black Hills Estate Winery popular Bordeaux-style "Nota Bene".

Blue Mountain Vineyard and Cellars

Blue Mountain welcomes you to experience wines using exclusively estate grown grapes from its South Okanagan vineyard. Focusing on varietal wines made from Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Gamay Noir, and Pinot Noir, Blue Mountain strives to produce complex, age-worthy wines, consistent in style while allowing the expression of both the terroir and the individual growing season.

Burrowing Owl Estate Winery

Located just outside of Oliver BC, this is one of the most popular wineries in the area and has gained international acclaim not only for their world-class wines but also for the epicurean experiences they offer in their gourmet restaurant. The Sonora Room Restaurant culinary team is led by Chef Bernard Casavant, and is open daily for lunch and dinner.

Copper Mountain Vineyards

At Copper Mountain, they believe in family, quality and tradition. You are invited to sample Copper Mountain`s fine variety of wines through the summer at Taber`s Taste of Summer Fruit Stand located on Hwy 97 just two miles south of the Canadian Border, open daily from 9 am to 5 pm. Barrel Tastings and opportunities to learn of the wine-making process are also available by appointment.

Desert Hills Winery

Located in Oliver BC, this family owned winery has plantings of Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Gamay, Malbec, Merlot and Pinot Gris. They have a charming wine shop and offer wine tastings year-round as well as seasonal tours.

Esther Bricques

Esther Bricques is located in one of those special microniches grapes seem to so enjoy, located approximately 8 miles south of Oroville, Washington. Known for its great climate for fruits such as apples and pears, the area can now add grapes to its list of agricultural successes. Tucked in at the base of Mt Hull on the east side of the valley, on a rise above the valley floor on a glacial outwash, the site is protected from high winds, benefits from downdrafts of cool evening air from the mountain, and is steeped in the sunlight needed to turn grapes into great wine.

Gehringer Brothers Estate Winery

This family owned and operated world-class winery is located between Oliver BC and Osoyoos BC. Gehringer Brothers is perhaps best known for its Rieslings and Reserve Labels but they have many other products worth tasting as well.

Golden Beaver Winery

This true boutique winery has an 8 acre vineyard, wine shop and tasting bar and is a convenient stop on the highway between Oliver BC and Osoyoos BC in the heart of Desert Wine Country.

Hester Creek Vineyards

Nestled into over 83 acres of rolling hills outside of Oliver BC, this winery has been in operation for over 40 years. The winery offers tours and complimentary tastings of their award winning wines.

Inniskillin Okanagan Winery

A powerhouse from the Niagra-on-the-Lake region in Ontario Canada, Inniskillin established their estate winery in the Okanagan in 1994 which commemorated 20 years of their first crush. They are located just outside Oliver BC and offer complimentary tours and tastings of many of their VQA wine products including their popular ice wines.

Jackson-Triggs Vintners Vincor Vineyard

This internationally acclaimed winery is located outside of Oliver BC and was named `Winery of the Year` at the Canadian Wine Awards in 2003, 2004 and 2006. Visitors enjoy the tasting gallery where they can sample a variety of vintages, including some limited editions available exclusively at the winery.

LaStella

LaStella was created to capture a vision of la dolce vita: fine food, wonderful wine, great music, and the good things in life. At LaStella, they celebrate the sun that ripens the grapes and brings warmth to life and they share that with everyone who visits.

LaStella is situated at Osoyoos Lake in the sunny South Okanagan valley of beautiful British Columbia. Here the vineyards produce great fruit and they craft them into such proprietary wines such as Allegreto, Vivace and Maestoso. Each wine has its own story--and at LaStella to convey this unique story, we name our wines after Italian musical notes.

Le Vieux Pin

A majestic old pine tree stands in the vineyard at Le Vieux Pin. It speaks to the earth and rain and the clean clear air of the South Okanagan. There the owners have created a winery inspired by the architecture and style of France. Their goal is to make wines that capture the essence of the French tradition; but with the fruit and character of the New World: elegant and focused, with great intensity of fruit.

Moon Cursor Vineyards

Family owned and operated, this winery produces small quantities of hand crafted, premium wines. Located on the east bench above Lake Osoyoos BC, they offer a tasting room with breathtaking panoramic views overlooking the lake and the surrounding town of Osoyoos.

NK`Mip Cellars

In 2002, Nk`Mip {pronounced "nk-meep"} Cellars became North America`s first aboriginal owned and operated winery. The Band shares its history and traditions with those who tour the winery and admire the ancient displays of native art and artifacts while tasting these popular wines. The winery is located outside of Osoyoos BC and boasts some of the most spectacular views of the valley.

Okanogan Estate & Vineyards

A hidden treasure in the Okanogan`s premier grape region, the Okanogan Estate & Vineyards was the first winery to open in this fruitful valley of Washington, located right here in Oroville at 1205 Main Street.

Oliver Twist Winery

As the name suggests, this winery is located in Oliver BC and offers twist-cap wines and carries two lines - Twisted and Reserve. The `Twisted` line offers quality wine made every year while the `Reserve` wines are in smaller lots that have been aged longer or showcase an exceptional vintage.

Quinta Ferreira Estate Winery

Located in Oliver BC, this winery has recently opened a new tasting gallery and wine shop where you can sample some of their award winning wines.

Road 13 Vineyards

Road 13 Winery Tours from Veranda Beach is a unique winery with a building facade resembling a small castle in Europe complete with a drawbridge and a knight in armour gazing across the property from the castle parapet. Road 13 Vineyards is located in Oliver BC and offers offers both tastings and tours of their facilities.

See Ya Later Ranch

See Ya Later Ranch, is perched atop Hawthorn Mountain 3 miles outside of Okanagan Falls BC. The See Ya Later Ranch tasting room and wine shop remain in the Major`s old home, which is made of hand-split stone and dates back to the 1900s. The winery offers tours, wine samples and breathtaking views of Skaha Lake and the surrounding valley.

Silver Sage Winery

Silver Sage Winery is located in Oliver BC and is a must-stop for self guided wine tours. This family owned and operated winery offers tastings of unique and interesting wines including their dessert wine varietals which are infused with fruits such as blueberries, raspberries and cherries or their popular Flame Dessert Wine, which is infused with hot peppers.

Tinhorn Creek Vineyards

Nestled in the hillside of a former gold mining creek, Tinhorn Creek Vineyards is located in Oliver BC and offers visitors self-guided tours or scheduled tours by appointment. The wine shop has tastings and gifts and for more active guests, the winery developed marked hiking trails (2 km & 10 km) that will take hikers past the Tinhorn Creek gold mine ruins.
